Chung Leads After Round One, Wolves Fourth

White Haven, Pa. (Apr. 27, 2019) - Kyung Chung has a 4-shot lead, Luke Fagley is tied for second place, and Alvernia University posted 326 to sit fourth after day one of the MAC Commonwealth Men's Golf Championships Saturday afternoon at Mountain Laurel Golf Club.

Jake Duffy shot 83 and Joe Polidoro rounded out the counting scores at 93.

Chung played the front nine in 2-over par 38 with seven pars and two bogies then made back-to-back birdies at 14 and 15 before a bogey at the par 3 finishing hole.

Fagley made started his day with three straight pars before a bogey at the par 3 5th. He got that back with a straightforward birdie at the par 4 6th, but went in the water off the tee at 7 before back-to-back doubles at 7 and 8.

He righted the ship with nine straight pars before bogey at the last and sits in a 4-way tie for second place at 5-over 77.

Duffy shot 5-over on the front nine with four pars and five bogeys. He made birdie at the par 4 11th, posted back-to-back doubles and a pair of bogeys down the stretch to get to 83.

Polidoro shot 45 on the front with two pars then came back with 48 on the back nine.

Alvernia is 13 strokes behind Lebanon Valley College which opened with 313. Day Two starts at 12:30 at Mountain Laurel.
