Danbury, Conn. (May 6, 2019) - Alvernia University Softball was selected as the No. 7 seed in the 2019 ECAC Division III Softball Championship.

Alvernia will take on No. 2 Neumann University at Neumann on Wednesday, May 8th at a time to be determined.  

No. 1 Penn State Behrend will receive a bye and host the weekend of the championship on Saturday, May 11th and Sunday, May 12.

Pfeiffer University, the No. 3 seed, with travel to No. 6 Franciscan University. No. 4 Albright College will host No. 5 Hunter College to round out the first round games.

This is the third straight year that Alvernia has been selected to the ECAC tournament. Alvernia was eliminated in the first round in 2019 with a 3-2 loss to Penn State Behrend.  Alvernia last won ECACs in 2014.

Alvernia University was selected as the No. 3 seed in this past weekend's MAC Commonwealth Championship, but lost two straight games, including one to Albright, and was eliminated on the first day of competition.
