Polidoro Ties Individual Record, Paces Alvernia At F&M

Lancaster, Pa. (Oct. 18, 2021) - Alvernia's Joe Polidoro fired Alvernia's lowest individual score since 2004 with a round of 69 to pace Alvernia to a sub-300 team score on Monday at Franklin & Marshall's Invitational at Bent Creek Country Club.

Polidoro tied Alvernia's individual single record set back in 2004 by Nayson Avery with a 3-under 69 at Lebanon Country Club. Polidoro's round of 69 was 2-under on Bent Creek's Par 71 course. Polidoro tied for low medalist honors, but Moravian's Thomas Lakata took low-medalist on a match of cards.

Alvernia shot a team score of 298, its second sub-300 team score of the fall season. 

Polidoro started his round with four straight pars before giving one back on the par 4 5th. After a par on the par 3 six, Polidoro moved back to even with a birdie on the par 4 7th. He shot two more pars on 8 and 9 to make the turn at even par. 

Polidoro then started off his back nine with back-to-back pars before moving to 1-under with a birdie on the par 5 12th. After two more pars on 13 and 14, Polidoro moved to 2-under with a birdie on the par 3 15th. Polidoro gave one back with a bogey on the par 4 16th, but moved back to 2-under with a birdie on the par 4 17th. Polidoro finished off his impressive round with a par on the par 5 18th.

Luke Fagley finished second for Alvernia and t-14th overall with a round of 74. Fagley's round was highlighted by birdies on the par 4 4th and par 5 9th. 

Finishing in third for Alvernia and and 27th overall was Jake Duffy with a round of 77. Duffy finished with two birdies on his card - a birdie on the par 3 2nd and a birdie on the par 5 18th. 

Rounding out Alvernia's counting scores was Jack Lynam with a round of 78 for a t-28th finish. Lynam finished his day with three birdies on his card. He birdied par 5 9th, the par 5 12th, and par 5 18th. 

Tyler Cebular played as Alvernia's fifth and shot a round of 82. Cebular shot back-to-back birdies on the par 5 12th and par 3 13th.

Today's showing at Franklin and Marshall was Alvernia's last invitational of the fall season. The Golden Wolves will close out their fall season next week with the Yocum Cup against Albright.
