Men's Golf in Fifth After First Day of Mason-Dixon Collegiate Classic

Waynesboro, Pa. (Oct. 1, 2022) - Alvernia University Men's Golf sits in fifth place out of 21 teams through the first day of the Mason-Dixon Collegiate Classic, hosted at Waynesboro Country Club.

The Golden Wolves finished day one with a team score of 303 and are eight strokes back of Gettysburg who sits in first with a team score of 295.

Luke Fagley and Dylan Byers paced Alvernia on day one, with both sitting t-9 with rounds of 74.

Fagley finished his round with two birdies and 12 pars. He had a nearly perfect front nine with a 1-over 37.

Byers had three birdies on his round along with 11 pars. His had a fantastic back nine with seven pars and two birdies to shoot a 2-under 34 on the back frame.

In third for Alvernia and t-32nd overall is Jack Lynam with a round of 77. Lynam had two birdies along with 10 pars.

Both Owen Wisner and Tyler Cebular shot rounds of 78 to sit at t-40th going into Sunday. Wisner also went 2-under on his back nine with seven pars and two birdies. Cebular had three birdies on his round along with seven pars.

Alvernia is back in action back at Waynesboro tomorrow for the final round of the Mason-Dixon Classic.
