Alvernia Takes Fifth at Franklin & Marshall Invitational

Lititz, Pa (Oct. 17, 2022) - Jack Lynam fired a 2-under round of 69 as Alvernia University finished fifth at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational at Bent Creek Country Club on Monday afternoon. 

Alvernia finished with a team score of 296 to finish 12 strokes behind Franklin and Marshall, who finished in first overall. 

The Golden Wolves were led by Lynam and Luke Fagley, who finished third and t-12th respectively. 

Lynam got to work immediately, he birdied the par three sixth before tallying four pars in the next five holes. After back to back bogeys on 12 and 13, Lynam fired a birdie on the 14th and rattled off three straight birdies on 16,17 and 18. Lynam ended his round with three more pars and tallied his sixth birdie to finish with a 35 on the front nine and a 34 on the back for a two under score of 69. He finished in third place and posted eight total pars and a season high six birdies.

Fagley started his day on the fifth hole and posted three pars in his first four holes before birding holes nine and ten. Fagley then birdied the par three 13th to shoot even par on his first nine holes. Fagley tallied his fourth birdie of the round on the 15th before closing his round out with four straight pars on holes one through four to finish with a 1-over round of 72. Fagley finished tied for 12th and tallied ten pars and four birdies. 

Owen Winser posted two straight pars and a birdie on his first three holes before he rattled off four pars in a row and back to back birdies on 14 and 15. Wisner finished with three more birdies in his final eight holes. He tallied nine total pars and three birdies for a 77 and finished tied for 27th. 

Dylan Byers posted three birdies and six pars to shoot a 7-over round of 78. Byers tallied five birdies in seven holes with three coming in a row on holes 14 through 16. Byers then fired three birdies in five holes before posting a par on the par four seventh to end his round. Byers finished in a tie for 31st. 

John Engle posted a round of 83 and finished with a total of nine pars and one birdie. Engle's best stretch came on holes 12 through 18 where he tallied five straight pars and posted a par on the 18th. Engle capped his round off with a par on the sixth, a birdie on the seventh, and a par on the eighth to post an 83 and finish tied for 48th.

The Golden Wolves are back in action tomorrow when they travel to Turtle Creek Golf Course for the Turtle Creek Intercollegiate, hosted by Arcadia. Tee times are set for 11:00 AM.
