Fleetwood, Pa. (Oct. 2, 2022) - A day after winning the Golden Oaks Shootout, and less than a week after winning the Alvernia Invitational, junior McKylie Boreman continued to stay hot to lead Alvernia during the first day of the Kutztown Fall Invitational on Sunday at Moselem Springs Golf Club.

Boreman is leading the field of 42 golfers after firing a 76 during her first round on Sunday. Alvernia is also leading the field of eight teams with a first day total of 328. Boreman is leading by two strokes while Alvernia is leading the field by 16 shots.

Boreman had a spectacular front nine, going 2-under through the first nine. She was even through the first three holes with three pars before carding back-to-back birdies on the 4th and 5th holes to move to 2-under. She then went par-birdie on the 7th and 8th holes before having her only blemish on the front nine with a bogey on nine. She then posted three pars on the back nine for her round of 76. 

Finishing in second for Alvernia and going into Monday in third place is Yupha Muzyka following a first day round of 79. Muzyka's round was highlighted by a birdie and four pars on the back nine. She also had four pars on the front nine.

In third for Alvernia and sitting in sixth overall is Katie Lapinsky with a round of 83. Lapinsky's round was highlighted by a birdie on the par 4 4th. She also had a total of five pars on her round.

Rounding out Alvernia's counting scores on day one was Rylee Stenzel with a round of 90. Stenzel had five pars on her round.

Grace Spielman played as Alvernia's fifth with a round of 96.

Alvernia returns to Moselem tomorrow to close out the Kutztown Invitational.
