Boreman, Alvernia Win Third Straight

Fleetwood, Pa. (Oct. 3, 2022) - Alvernia Women's Golf junior McKylie Boreman and Alvernia University won its third event in less than a week as she took first place at the Kutztown Fall Invitational on Monday at Moselem Springs Golf Club.

Boreman held a two stroke lead going into today following a round of 76 on Sunday. She posted a 77 on day two for a two-day total of 153. Boreman finished five strokes ahead of teammate Yupha Muzyka, who finished in second place with a two-day total of 158.

Alvernia held a 16 stroke lead going into Monday after the Golden Wolves finished Sunday with a team total of 328. Alvernia finished with a two-day total of 663 to finish 18 strokes ahead of Millersville University.

Boreman has now won three straight events after winning the Alvernia Invitational last week and the Golden Wolves Shootout over the weekend. 

After going two-over through the first three holes, Boreman went par-par-birdie-par on holes 4-7 with a birdie coming on the par 4 6th. After a bogey on the eighth, she closed out her front nine with a par to make the turn at 4-over. Boreman then posted three pars on the back nine and added a birdie on the par 4 16th for her round of 77.

Finishing in second for Alvernia and second overall was Muzyka with a two-day total of 158. Muzyka matched her day one round with another round of 79 on Monday. She posted three pars with a birdie on the par 4 4th on her front nine and then posted six total pars on her back nine for the round of 79.

Finishing in third for Alvernia and t-7th overall was Katie Lapinsky with a two-day total of 170. Lapinksy shot an 87 during round two with six pars on her round.

Rounding out Alvernia's counting scores was Rylee Stenzel with a two-day total of 182. Stenzel posted a 92 for her second round, and her round was highlighted by a birdie on the par 5 7th.

Grace Spielman played as Alvernia fifth. She was the only Golden Wolve to improve their score from day one to day two, with Spielman posted a 95 on Monday after a 96 on Sunday.

Women's Golf has a week off before returning to action on Monday at the Muhlenberg Invitational.
