BOX SCORE Davenport, Fla. (March 6, 2022) - Alvernia University (0-1) dropped its 2022 season opener to Catholic University (1-1) in a 12-3 decision to the Cardinals on Sunday afternoon in Davenport, Florida at The Spring Games.

The Golden Wolves put up one run in the top of the first, but the Cardinals responded with a big six-run inning in their half of the first.

The Cardinals put up about another six in the bottom of the second to take a 12-1 advantage.

Alvernia was able to get two back in the top of the third, but could not get any closer as Catholic came away with the 12-3, five-inning win.

Sarah Reinert finished with two hits and one run, Jacklyn Barbera had her first career RBI, and Ally Kirschner drove in two.

Alvernia was slated to play a second game on Sunday, but it was called off due to tournament constraints.
