Polidoro Leads Alvernia at LedgeRock

Mohnton, Pa. (April 19, 2022) - Alvernia University Men's Golf battled harsh elements and cold conditions on Tuesday afternoon at its home invitational at LedgeRock Golf Club, with Joe Polidoro pacing the Golden Wolves to a fifth place finish.

Facing heavy winds, rain, snow, and cold temperatures, Polidoro led Alvernia's showing with a round 6-over 78. Polidoro started on the first hole, and uphill par 4. He pared that, and pared the following par 3.

Polidoro then moved to 1-under on the day with a birdie on the par 4 third. After moving back to even with a bogey on the fourth, Polidoro again moved back to 1-under with a birdie on the par 4 fifth.

The back and forth continued for Polidoro with a bogey on the sixth to move back to even. He then pared the par 5 7th, but followed that with a birdie on the par 5 8th. A bogey on the par 4 ninth moved Polidoro back to even as he made the turn.

Polidoro found trouble with a bogey on the downhill par 3 tenth to start out the back nine. He posted two straight pars on 11 and 12, but went on to bogey the next five holes. He capped off his round with a par on the closing par 5 18th.

Finishing in second for Alvernia and t-16th overall was Luke Fagley with a round of 81. Fagley did not card any birdies on his round, but he did par 12 of the 18 holes on his round.

Finishing in third for Alvernia and t-26th overall was Jack Lynam with a round of 84. Lynam's round was highlighted by birdies on the par 5 eighth and par 4 12th. He then closed out his round with back-to-back pars on the 18th and first after starting his day on the par 3 second.

Zach Lessley rounded out Alvernia's counting scores with a round of 89 and 30th place finish. Lessley's round was highlighted by a birdie on the 18th and pars on eight and 12.

Holt Albertson played as Alvernia's fifth and finished his day with a round of 92.

West Chester's Chris Warned shot a 1-under par 71 to take home low-medalist honors. West Chester took team honors as well with a team total of 303.

This was Alvernia's final invitational of the regular season. Alvernia heads to Golden Oaks this weekend for the MAC Commonwealth Championship.
