Abbottstown, Pa (Sept. 19, 2022) - Two student- athletes fired 4-over rounds of 75 as Alvernia finished fourth at Gettysburg's Battle of the Burg with a team total of 614. 

Dyan Byers and Luke Fagley both shot 75 and Jack Lynam and Owen Wisner shot rounds of 78. Byers finished tied for 9th while Fagley and Lynam finished in a tie for 13th. Wisner finished in a tie for 20th. 

Byers shot a 4- over 40 on the front nine before firing an even par 35 on the back nine with back-to-back birdies on holes 14 and 15. Byers led the Golden Wolves with a two day total of 152.

Fagley posted a 2- over 38 on the front nine with five pars and a birdie, and finished his round with a 2- over 37 on the back nine with six straight pars. Fagley finished with a two-day total of 154. 

Lynam posted a 3- over 39 on the front with a birdie on hole 9 and shot a 38 on the back nine with six pars. Lynam ended with 11 pars on the round. Lynam finished the tournament with a two-day total of 154. 

Wisner posted a 39 on the front nine with a birdie on number 8 and six pars. Wisner birdied the par 5 17th and made par on holes 13 thru 16 to post a 4- over 39 on the back nine. Wisner finished in a tie for 20th and a two-day total of 156. 

Tyler Cebular posted a score of 80 on the day with two birdies and seven pars and finished in a tie for 22nd. Cebular ended the two-day tournament with a total score of 157. 

John Engle played as an individual for the Golden Wolves and posted an 83 to finish tied for 40th. Engle birdied the par 5 17th and finished with seven pars on the day. Engle ended with a total score of 171. 

The Golden Wolves finished with a total team score of 305 on the day and a 614 two day total to take fourth place. 

Gettysburg College took first place honors with Drew Hurley carding a 1- over 72 to lead Gettysburg to victory. 

Alvernia is back in action on Thursday when they travel to Schuylkill Country Club for the Albright College Invitational.
