Alvernia Takes Third at Moravian Invitational

Bethlehem, Pa. (Sept. 26, 2022) - Alvernia University Men's Golf finished third at the Moravian University Invitational on Monday, hosted by Saucon Valley Country Club - Weyhill Course.

Alvernia finished with a team score of 330 to finish 13 strokes behind the University of Scranton, who took first place overall.

The Golden Wolves were paced by Dylan Byers and Owen Wisner. Both finished t-4th overall with rounds of 80.

Byers finished his day with six pars - including a stretch of three in a row on holes 11-13. He also posted birdies on the par 4 4th, par 5 9th, and par 3 14th.

Wisner also posted six pars during his round. Like Byers, he also carded birdies on the par 4 4th and par 5 9th. Wisner also carded a birdie on the par 4 11th.

Tyler Cebular finished two strokes back of Byers and Wisner with a round of 82 to finish t-8th overall. Cebular did not have a birdie on his round, but he did finish with 10 pars - including back-to-back on 17 and 18.

Rounding out Alvernia's counting scores was Matt Davies. Davies, playing in his first round for Alvernia, finished t-24th with a round of 88. Davies' round was highlighted by birdies on the par 5 9th, and back-to-back birdies on the 12th and 13th holes.

Nick Varava plated as Alvernia's fifth and posted a round of 91 to finish 27th overall.

Moravian's Jake Haberstumpf took low medalist with a round of 1-under 71.

Alvernia is back in action tomorrow with its home invitational at LedgeRock Golf Club.
