Alvernia Finishes Third at Home Invitational

Reading, Pa (Sept. 27,2022) - Alvernia University Men's Golf placed third at the Alvernia Fall Invitational on Tuesday at LedgeRock Golf Club.

Alvernia finished with a team score of 316 to finish 14 strokes behind West Chester, who finished first overall.

Jack Lynam led the way for the Golden Wolves firing a +4, 76 and finished tied for fifth place. Lynam, who started on the ninth hole, got off to a hot start with back to back birdies on 11 and 12 and finished with three birdies on the day. Lynam finished with ten total pars and three birdies en route to a 76.

Luke Fagley finished just behind Lynam with a 5-over 77 to finish tied for eighth place. Fagley started on the ninth hole and also birdied 11 and 12 back to back. Fagley ended the day with five pars and and four birdies on his way to a 77.

Owen Wisner finished with a 9-over 81 with eight total pars en route to a tie for 20th place. Wisner birdied holes six and nine finishing with two birdies on the round.

John Engle finished in a tie for 24th place with a 10-over 82 on his round. Engle finished the round with nine total pars and one birdie, which came on the par 5 eighth hole.

Dylan Byers finished his round with a 12-over 84 to finish in a tie for 28th place. Byers, who started on the 11th hole found some magic just two holes in when he holed out from 135 yards out to card an eagle on the par 4 12th. Byers would finish with eight pars, one birdie and one eagle.

Zach Lessley led Alvernia's second team with a 15-over 87 and finished in a tie for 34th. Lessley finished the day with nine pars and one birdie. Sean Stead also shot an 87 to finish tied for 34th with Lessley. Stead finished the round with nine pars.

Matt Davies finished with a round of 92 to finish 48th. Davies finished with five pars on the day. Brandon Daigle finished with a round of 98 and four pars while Logan Vande Meerakker finished with a round of 99 and three total pars.

The Golden Wolves are back in action this weekend when they travel to McDaniel for the McDaniel Invitational at Waynesboro Country Club on Saturday and Sunday.
