Alvernia Leads at Kutztown After First Day of Competition

Fleetwood, Pa. (Oct. 1, 2023) - Alvernia University Women's Golf posted a team score of 320 on the first day of the Kutztown University Fall Invitational on Sunday afternoon at Moselem Springs Golf Club.

Alvernia's score of 320 has the Golden Wolves atop the leaderboard and leading by 23 strokes following the first day of competition. Alvernia is the only Division III team competing in the field of six teams.

McKylie Boreman is leading the field after the first day with a score of 74. Boreman posted six pars on the front nine and added six more on the back nine. She also had a birdie on the par three 15th hole.

Sitting just one stroke back of Boreman and in second overall is Katie Lapinsky with a round of 75. Lapinsky was 4-over through the front nine with five pars. She was then just 1-over on the back nine with four pars and two birdies.

Sitting in a tie at seventh overall and in third for Alvernia is Cassidy Miksich with a round of 85. Miksich finished her round with six pars.

In fourth for Alvernia and t-9th overall is Rylee Stenzel with a round of 86. Stenzel finished her round with six pars.

In fifth for Alvernia and t-21st overall is Grace Spielman with a round of 91.

Alvernia is back at Moselem Springs tomorrow for the final round of the Kutztown Invitational.
