BOX SCORE Dallas, Pa. (March 26, 2023) - Alvernia University (2-4) picked up its first win of the spring season on Sunday afternoon with a 7-2 win over Misericordia University (1-4) in non-conference men's tennis action at Misericordia.

Alvernia started the match off strong at doubles play as the duos of Lucas Berger and Jayden Lewis, and Thomas Figurelli and Kevin Angeles picked up 8-6, 8-0 wins, respectively. The Cougars picked up a point at #3 doubles on an Alvernia forfeit.

The Golden Wolves continued to role in singles play as Berger got things started with a 6-2, 7-6 win at #1 singles, and Lewis picked up a 6-0, 6-2 win at #2 singles. 

Figurelli then went 6-0, 6-0 at #3 singles, and Angeles also did not allow a point at #4 singles, going 6-0, 6-0 as well. Derrick Boltz picked up Alvernia's final point with a 6-2, 6-1 win at #5 singles. The Cougars picked up one final point on an Alvernia forfeit at #6 singles, but the Golden Wolves still came away with the 7-2 match win.

Alvernia is back in action tomorrow hosting Ursinus.
