Alvernia in Fifth After First Day of Home Invitational

Elverson, Pa. (April 10, 2023) - After the first day of competition of Alvernia's Spring Invitational at Stonewall on Monday, the Golden Wolves sit in fifth place overall in the field of 12 teams.

Alvernia's Luke Fagley leads the Golden Wolves with a round of even par 70 to sit in fourth place overall. He is three strokes back of Eastern's Devin Cooper, who posted a 3-under 67 on Monday.

Eastern University leads the field by one stroke with a team score of 293. Alvernia sits eight strokes back with a team score of 301.

Fagley jumped out to a 1-under start with a birdie on the par four 1st hole. After a par on the par three 2nd hole, Fagley gave one back with a bogey on the nearly 500 yard par five 4th. He recovered quickly, going right back to even par with a birdie on the par four 4th hole.

After back-to-back pars on five and six, Fagley moved to 2-under with a birdie on the par four seventh. He went even the rest of the front nine to make the turn at 2-under. Fagley gave one back with a bogey on the tenth. He then posted back-to-back pars before going bogey-birdie-bogey on holes 13-15. After a bogey-par sequence on 16 and 17, Fagley closed out his round with birdie on the par five 18th to finish even on the day.

Finishing two back of Fagley and sitting in seventh overall is Jack Lynam with a round of 72. Lynam finished his round with ten pars and three birdies on the day. He birdied the par five 3rd and par five 9th. He then started his back nine with a birdie on the par four 10th.

Sitting in third for Alvernia and t-35th overall is Tyler Cebular with a round of 79. Cebular finished with nine pars, including six on the back nine, and a birdie. His birdie came on the par par five 3rd.

In fourth for Alvernia and t-41 overall is Dylan Byers with a round of 80. Byers finished with ten pars on his round.

Jackson Hoovler finished as Alvernia's fifth with a round of 82 to sit at t-43rd overall. Hoovler finished with ten pars on his day.

The Alvernia Spring Invitational will concluded tomorrow with round two taking place at LedgeRock.
