Boreman and Lapinsky Lead Alvernia on Day One of York’s Spartan Invitational

York, Pa (April 16, 2023) - McKylie Boreman fired a three over 75 and Katie Lapinksy recorded a 76 on day one of the Spartan Invitational hosted by York College.

Alvernia finishes the first day in second place with a team score of 321.

Boreman started her day on the first hole and recorded six pars and a birdie on the front nine to card a one over 37 on the front. Boreman would bogey the par four tenth before ripping off birdies in two of her next three holes to get back to even par through 13. Boreman carded two pars in her final five holes and finished tied for second with a three over 75.

Lapkinsky recorded five pars and a birdie over her first nine holes and went into the turn with a three over, 39 on the first nine holes. Lapinsky birdied the tenth and the 12th to get back to one over but a double on 13 and a bogey on 14 saw her drop back to +4 through 15. Lapinksy bounced back with a birdie and a par in her final three holes to card a one over, 37 on the back nine. Lapinsky finished day one in a tie for sixth place and recorded a four over 76.

Rylee Stenzel fired a day one 81 and is in solo 12th place. Stenzel carded five pars and four bogeys on the front nine for a four over 40 on the front. Stenzel then tallied five more pars on the back nine but a double bogey and three bogeys saw her card a 41 on the back nine and finished day one +9 and in 12th place.

Grace Spielman recorded an 89 on the first day of the invitational and tallied four pars on her round. Spielman carded a 46 on the front nine and a 43 on the back to finish with an 89 and sits in solo 24th place after day one.

Autumn Wolf carded a 98 on the first day of the tournament and tallied three pars on the day. Wolf recorded par on the par three third and 12th and the par four tenth. Wolf ends day one in a tie for 32nd.

York College of Pa leads the field after day one with a total team score of 313.

The Golden Wolves are back in action tomorrow when they are back at Regents Glen CC for day two of the Spartan Invitational.
