Alvernia in Second After Day One of MAC Championship

Fleetwood, Pa. (April 29, 2023) - Alvernia Women's Golf sits in second place in the field of nine teams following the first day of competition at the 2023 Women's Golf MAC Championship, hosted at Golden Oaks Golf Club.

Alvernia shot a 51-over 339 as a team to sit 15 strokes back of first place York heading into Sunday.

The Golden Wolves have three individuals tied for 7th place after McKylie Boreman, Katie Lapinsky, and Rylee Stenzel each shot 9-over 81. All three are seven back of first round leaders Casey Oppenheimer of Stevenson and Marin Dremock of Eastern.

Boreman's 81 was highlighted by 10 pars - including six on the front nine. She went 3-over on the front nine and 6-over on the back for the round of 81.

Lapinsky's round was highlighted by a birdie on the par three ninth. She also had seven pars total on her round.

Stenzel went 7-over on the front nine with three pars, including a par on the ninth. Her par on the ninth started a string of eight pars on the final ten holes for a round of 81.

Finishing in fourth for Alvernia was Grace Spielman with a round of 96. Spielman had four pars on her round, including three on the back nine.

Finishing in fifth for Alvernia was Autumn Wolf with a round of 101.

The Golden Wolves are back at Golden Oaks on Sunday morning for the second and final round of competition.
