Alvernia Competes at York College Twilight

York, Pa. (March 28, 2024) - Alvernia University Women's Track and Field competed at the 2024 York College Twilight Invitational on Wednesday night at York College.

The Golden Wolves finished Wednesday night with ten top-ten finishes and four personal records in their second invitational of the outdoor season.

Highlights and Personal Records

The Women's 4x800m Relay Team highlighted the night for Alvernia with a first place finish and a time of 10:36.99. The team was made up of Paige Jerrahian, Rosnelly Sanchez de Aza, Caitlin Sternberg, and Jessie Torres.
Cera Gaston had two-top ten finishes for Alvernia. Gaston took second in the 1,500m with a personal record time of 5:03.99. She also finished fifth in the 800m with a time of 2:26.01.
Mylina Castillo took fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 10.77m.
Elisabeth Schwarz took 5th in the 100m with a time of 12.90.
Isabel Fries took sixth in the 5,000m with a personal record time of 18:46.86.
Lilli Knudsen took seventh in the 400m with a time of 1:12.69 in her first time competing in the event.
Along with her first place finish the 4x800m relay, Jessie Torres also took seventh in the 800m with a time of 2:27.75.
Caitlin Sternberg took eighth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 17.13.
Isabella Lesko rounded out Alvernia's top-ten finishes with a ninth place finish in the javelin on a throw of 31.09m. Lesko also had a personal record throw in the discus with a mark of 26.13m.
Maria Skulski had a personal record throw of 8.06m in the shot put for a 22nd place finish.

Up Next

Alvernia has off this weekend for the Easter Holiday. The Golden Wolves will return to action on April 5th and 6th for the two-day Millersville Metrics.
