Glenside, Pa (April 10, 2024) - Arcadia University (18-10) scored 14 runs in three innings en route to a 17-8 victory over Alvernia University (17-10) in a non-conference baseball matchup Wednesday at Arcadia.
The Golden Wolves held a 4-2 lead after three at bats but the Knights scored 14 runs between the third, fourth and fifth to grab the 16-5 lead. Alvernia tacked on three more in the eighth but it was not enough as the Knights secured the 17-8 victory.

How it Happened
- Alvernia put up two runs in the first inning after a Mike Ramundo RBI double down the left field line. Ramundo later scored after Matt Edwards executed a first and third rundown to make it 2-0 Alvernia.
- Arcadia responded with an RBI double of its own in the bottom of the first to cut the lead in half, 2-1.
- Jason Lind tacked on one more in the second after he singled up the middle to score Timmy Hitchcock and make it 3-1.
- Arcadia grabbed one back in the second after an Alvernia error allowed a run to score.
- Jason Kelly responded with a RBI single to center field in the visiting half of the third to push the lead to two, 4-2.
- The Knights grabbed the lead in the home half of the third after they posted a three spot and took the one run, 5-4 lead over the Golden Wolves.
- Arcadia continued to pad the lead with four more in the fourth inning thanks to an RBI single, a wild pitch, a sacrifice fly and a bases loaded walk to make it a 9-4 ballgame.
- Hitchcock got one back for Alvernia with a RBI single up the middle to pull within four, 9-5.
- The Knights then tacked on seven runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to take a 16-5 advantage.
- Arcadia added its final insurance run of the game in the seventh after an RBI single plated a run and made it 17-5.
- The Golden Wolves scored three in the top of the eighth after a Ryan Kopf RBI groundout, a Noah Waldron RBI single to right and a wild pitch but it was not enough as the Knights secured the 17-8, comeback victory over Alvernia.
