Chester, Pa. (April 20, 2024) - Alvernia University Women's Track and Field competed at both the Widener University Paul Donahue Invitational and the Hopkins/Loyola Invitational on Saturday in the penultimate weekend of competition prior to the 2024 Outdoor MAC Track and Field Championship.

At Widener, Alvernia's women's team posted five personal records and one top-ten finish. At Hopkins/Loyola, Alvernia finished with another four personal records and a first place finish as Shinelle Felix took first in the triple jump. 

Highlights and Personal Records

• Shinelle Felix took first in the triple jump at Hopkins with a mark of 12.00m in her first time competing in the event during the outdoor season. Her 12.00 mark puts her on the top-20 list for the season in DIII.
• Akilah Hoxter posted personal records in all three events she competed at at Hopkins. She ran a PR in the 100m with a time of 13.49 seconds, had a PR in the 200m with a time of 28.74 seconds, and had a PR in the long jump with a mark of 4.91m
• Giavanni Gibson rounded out the personal records at Hopkins with a PR in the 200m on a time of 27.86 seconds. 
• Caitlin Sternberg was Alvernia's lone top-ten finisher as Widener. Sternberg toko 10th in the 100m hurdles with a time of 16.54 seconds.
• Al'liyah McCloud ran a 13.41 in the 100m to better her personal record by a tenth of a second.
• Paige Jerrahian, Jessie Torres, and Rosnelly Sanchez de Aza all posted new personal records in the 800m. Torres ran a 2:23.80, Sanchez de Aza ran a 2:24.95, and Jerrahian ran a 2:27.57.
• Isabel Fries ran a new personal record in the 5,000m with a time of 18:28.06.
