Golden Wolves Take Tenth at Jack Leaman Invitational

South Hadley, MA (April 21, 2024) - Alvernia University finished in tenth place in a NCAA top 25 studded field at Amherst's Jack Leaman Invitational Sunday at The Orchards Golf Club. 

McKylie Boreman recorded the best finish on the Golden Wolves with a T7 finish. Katie Lapinsky fired the best round of the day for Alvernia and finished in a tie for 13th place. 

Alvernia finished with a two day total of 329/324=653. #8 Wellesley took home the team title with a 300/308=608 score and finished six strokes ahead of the host, #14 Amherst who finished with a 299/315=614. 

Five Women's Golf Coach Association (WGCA) top 25 teams competed at the Jack Leaman Invitational over the weekend including #4 ranked Williams College, #8 ranked Wellesley, #14 ranked Amherst College, #21 ranked Hamilton College, #23 ranked Middlebury and Christopher Newport University are receiving votes in the latest poll. 

Boreman recorded 13 pars and one birdie en route to a five over 77. Boreman finished in a tie for seventh place with a two day total of 76/77=153. 

Lapinsky fired a low round of 76 in round two for Alvernia and finished in a tie for 13th place. Lapinsky carded nine pars and three birdies on her round and finished with a two day total of 80/76=156. 

Rylee Stenzel posted an 81 on round two and finished in a tie for 46th. Stenzel recorded eight pars and three birdies en route to her 81 and finished with a two day total of 83/81=164.

Cassidy Miksich recorded a 90 on the second day of the tournament and finished in a tie for 84th. Miksich recorded three pars and one birdie on her round and finished with a total of 91/90=181.

Grace Spielman rounded out the scores for Alvernia with a 94 on day two. Spielman recorded four pars on her round and finished with a 90/94=184 and in 88th place. 

The Golden Wolves are back in action tomorrow when they head to Lehigh Country Club for the Muhlenberg Spring Invitational.
