Miksich Leads Alvernia to Team Title at Muhlenberg Invitational

Allentown, Pa (April 22, 2024) - Cassidy Miksich fired a low round of 72 to take home low medalist honors and lead Alvernia University to the team title at the Muhlenberg Invitational at Lehigh Country Club Monday. 

Miksich bested Jefferson's Vivian Chuang by six strokes and the Golden Wolves beat Jefferson by ten strokes in the team race with a score of 337.

Miksich rattled off five pars in a row to start her round before carding a birdie four at the par five sixth. Miksich then tallied two more pars on seven and eight but a bogey on nine saw her post an even par 35 on the front nine. She started her back nine with pars on ten,11 and 12 but then recorded three straight bogeys before ending her round with two pars and a birdie at the 18th to card a 37. Miksich recorded a 35/37= 72 and took home low medalist honors. 

Katie Lapinsky recorded the second best round of the day for the Golden Wolves and finished in a tie for second place. Lapinsky started her round with a par and then a birdie at the second but four straight bogeys saw her card a 40 on the front nine. Lapinksy bogeyed the tenth and then ripped off four straight pars before carding two bogeys in her final four holes to card a back nine 38. Lapinsky finished her day with a 40/38=78 and a tie for second place. 

Rylee Stenzel posted the third best score for the Golden Wolves and fired an 84 and finished in seventh place. Stenzel went bogey, double bogey in her first two holes but then ripped off seven straight pars to end her front nine with a three over 38. Stenzel then carded a 46 on the back nine en route to the 84. 

Paige Damon recorded a 103 at the Invitational and finished in a tie for 16th place. Damon carded one par on the front nine and posted a 48 on the front nine. Damon then carded a 55 on the back with a birdie at the 16th to finish with a 103. 

Grace Spielman also recorded a 103 and finished in a tie for 16th place. Spielman carded two pars on the front nine and posted a 51 on the front. She then tallied two pars on the back nine and a 52 to finish with a 103. 

The Golden Wolves are back in action on May 4th when they head to Golden Oaks Golf Club for the MAC Championships on Saturday and Sunday.
