Reading, Pa. (Oct. 14, 2025) - A trio of Alvernia student-athletes earned MAC weekly honors for their performances during the week of October 6 - October 12, 2025, as announced by the Middle Atlantic Conference on Tuesday morning.

Shawn Williams, a senior for Alvernia Men's Golf, was named the MAC Commonwealth Men's Golfer of the Week. Evan Solley, a graduate student for Alvernia Men's Soccer, was named the MAC Commonwealth Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. Cassidy Miksich, a junior for Alvernia Women's Golf, was named the MAC Women's Golfer of the Week.

Shawn Williams averaged a 73.3 over three rounds of golf played this week. Williams tied for first place on Tuesday at Alvernia's home invitational with a round 1-over 73 at LedgeRock Golf Club. Williams played the front nine at even par with a birdie on the eighth hole, and had three birdies on the back-nine to play the stretch at 1-over and finish his day at 1-over. Williams then took 15th place at the two-day Mason-Dixon Collegiate Classic. Williams shot an even 72 on day one with five birdies on the day, including three on the front nine to play the opening stretch at 2-under. Williams then shot a 3-over 75 on day two at Waynesboro Country Club for a two-day total of 147.

Evan Solley recorded 15 saves and allowed just two goals in a 0-0-2 week for the Golden Wolves. In a 1-1 tie against #18 Rowan, Sollley recorded a career-high 14 saves and allowed just one goal as the Profs fired off 37 total shots. In a 1-1 tie against York on Saturday, Solley added one more save to his total on the week as Alvernia allowed just two total shots on goal.

Cassidy Miksich shot a round of 81 to lead Alvernia's showing at its home invitational at LedgeRock Golf Club on Tuesday. Miksich finished in a tie for third place overall with her round of 81. Miksich played the front nine at 3-over with four pars and a birdie. She then played the back nine at 6-over with four pars and two birdies.

Men's and Women's Golf are back in action today and tomorrow at the Battle at Bulle Rock. Men's Soccer takes one final break from MAC Commonwealth play with a crossover game to the MAC Freedom tomorrow night at Stevens.
