Katie Lapinsky were named Alvernia Players of the Week for their performances during the week of April 21-April 27, 2025.
Sherrin Smith had 11 goals and an assist in a 1-1 week for the Golden Wolves. Smith started her week with a two goal performance against Messiah. Then, needing eight goals to hit the 100 career goal milestone against Albright on Saturday, Smith came out and scored nine to close out her career with 101 career goals and lead Alvernia to an 18-0 win against Albright. Smith also had 14 draw controls on the week and finished the week going 7-for-11 on free position attempts.Â
Zackary Moats finished a 1-1 week for Alvernia with a six point performance. Moats finished the week with five goals, an assist, eight ground balls, and three caused turnovers. In a 12-3 setback to Messiah, Moats scored one goal and had two ground balls. He then led Alvernia to its first MAC Commonwealth win in 12 years with a five point performance. Moats scored four goals, had an assist, picked up six ground balls and caused two turnovers in the 12-7 win over Albright.
Katie Lapinsky was Alvernia's top-finisher at the 2025 MAC Women's Golf Championship, leading the Golden Wolves to a repeat title and their fourth championship in program history. Lapinsky finished in third overall with a two-day score of 155. Lapinsky carded a first round of 7-over 79, and then improved that with a round of 4-over 76 on Sunday. Her impressive back nine stretch that included two birdies was crucial in Alvernia defending its MAC Women's Golf title.Â
Both Women's and Men's Lacrosse concluded their respective seasons on Saturday. Women's Golf will represent the MAC at the 2025 NCAA Division III Championship in Williamsburg, Virginia beginning on May 13.
