Northborough, Mass. (July 23, 2025) - Eight Alvernia University Women's Lacrosse student-athletes, as well as the Women's Lacrosse Team, earned academic honors for their performances in the classroom, as announced by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) on Wednesday afternoon.

The Women's Lacrosse team was recognized as a Division III Honor Squad for their collective performance in the classroom. The IWLCA recognized 383 schools lacrosse Division I, II, III and NAIA as Academic Honor Squads for the 2024-25 academic year, with those teams having earned a team GPA of 3.20 or higher. Alvernia finished the year with a 3.57 team GPA. 

In addition to the team honor, eight student-athletes were also recognized for their individual performances in the classroom. Cailyn Hawley (Jr./Physician's Associate), Kayleigh Kight (Jr./Psychology), Olivia Malone (Sr./Nursing), Hailey Miller (Sr./Nursing), Haylee Roller (Jr./Athletic Training), Sophia Ruocco (Sr./Education), Sherrin Smith (Sr./Communication), and Marissa Zocco (Jr./Athletic Training) were named to the IWLCA Division III Honor Roll. They are eight of 1,286 student-athletes from 201 Division III Institutions to earn the honor. To be eligible, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a 3.50 or higher cumulative GPA.
