Smith, Kight Earn All-MAC Commonwealth Selections

Reading, Pa (May 7, 2025) - Alvernia University women's lacrosse senior attacker Sherrin Smith and junior defender Kayleigh Kight both earned Second Team All-MAC Commonwealth selections for their performances during the 2025 season as announced by the Middle Atlantic Conference Wednesday. 

The second team selection for Kight is the second of her career as she earned honorable mention honors in her sophomore season. Smith's second team honor is the first of her career after putting on a career season for the Golden Wolves in 2025. 

Sherrin Smith anchored the Golden Wolves offense and led in both goals and points with a career high 42 goals and 50 total points. Smith's 42 goals ranked her fifth in the MAC Commonwealth and her 2.47 goals per game was the sixth best average in the conference. Smith's 50 points was also best for tenth in the Commonwealth, her 6.29 shots per game was the third best average in the conference and her 107 total shots was the fourth most in the Commonwealth. Smith also recorded 70 draw controls which was good for the ninth most in the Commonwealth. Smith's Second Team All-MAC Commonwealth selection was the first of her career. 

Kayleigh Kight also earned a Second Team All-MAC Commonwealth selection as a defender in her junior season and led the Golden Wolves in both ground balls with 58 and caused turnovers with 34. Kight's 58 ground balls ranked her in a tie for second most in the MAC Commonwealth and her 3.41 ground balls per game was the second best average in the conference. Kight also finished third in the Commonwealth in caused turnovers with 34 and her two caused turnovers per game was the second best average in the conference. This is Kight's second All-MAC Commonwealth honor after she was selected as a Honorable Mention defender last season.
