Golden Wolves Kick Off the 2025 MAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships

York, Pa (May 1, 2025) - Alvernia University men's and women's track and field teams competed at the first day of the 2025 MAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships Thursday evening at York College.

Giavanni Gibson led the way with a third place finish in the heptathlon 200m dash and fifth place finishes in the 100m hurdles and the shot put. The men's 4x800m relay team also recorded a sixth place finish.

Giavanni Gibson competed four of the events in the women's heptathlon on Thursday and sits in sixth place overall with 2,034 points. Gibson's best finish of the day came in the 200m where she posted a time of 27.30 and finished in third place for 687 points. Gibson recorded a fifth place finish in the 100m hurdles with a time of 17.01 to earn 595 points and also took fifth in the shot put with a 7.13m mark and earned 343 points. Gibson's final mark of the day came at the high jump where she recorded a 1.30m mark and an eighth place finish for 409 points.

Grant Sharp recorded a 35.47m mark in the hammer throw on his second attempt and finished in 32nd place.Mikayla Giuliano posted a 33.85m mark in the hammer throw on her second attempt and finished in 29th place. The men's 4x800m relay team of Zackary Wendel, Sam Martinez, James Henry and Spencer Hahn rounded out the Golden Wolves who competed on Thursday and posted a time of 8:01.12 and finished in sixth place.
