Golden Wolves Take on Millersville Metrics

Millersville, Pa. (April 5, 2025) - Alvernia Women's Track and Field competed at the 2025 Millersville Metrics this weekend on the campus of Millersville University.

Caitlin Sternberg led Alvernia with an eighth place finish in the 100m hurdles. Sternberg qualified for the finals with a time of 16.46 seconds, and then posted a 16.58 in the finals for her eighth place finish. Giavanni Gibson took 11th in the same event with a personal-record time of 16.96 seconds. Sternberg also took 11th in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:17.34.

Rosnelly Sanchez de Aza and Paige Jerrahian had top-20 finishes in both the 400m and 800m. Jerrahian took 18th in the 400m with a time of 1:06.72, and Sanchez de Aza took 12th with a time of 1:04.4. Sanchez de Aza finished just one one-hundredth of a second off of her PR. In the 800m, Sanchez de Aza finished 13th with a time of 2:28.63, and Jerrahain took 15th with a time of 2:30.73.

In the field, Isabella Lesko was Alvernia's top-finisher, taking 15th in the javelin with a mark of 31.35m. Mikayla Giuliano took 19th in the hammer with a new four-meter personal-record mark of 34.27m.

Alvernia is back in action next weekend at the Messiah University Invitational.
