BOX SCORE Philadelphia, Pa. (Feb. 13, 2026) - Alvernia Men's Tennis opened the spring season with a 7-0 setback to UC Santa Cruz on Friday night in non-conference men's tennis action at the UNTLD Tennis Academy in Philadelphia.
The Banana Slugs took all three doubles matches to secure the first team point of the event. Alvernia picked up one set with
Luke Brisbois and
Lucas Montello grabbing a game in #1 doubles. The Slugs ended up taking #1 doubles, 6-1, and #2 doubles, 6-0. UC Santa Cruz then won #3 doubles via forfeit for the first point of the match.
Alvernia forfeited #5 and #6 singles to give the Banana Slugs a 3-0 lead. UC Santa Cruz took the remaining four singles matches for the 7-0 win. Brisbois pushed his opponent in the second set, grabbing three games. But, UC Santa Cruz took the set 6-3 and the match, 6-1, 6-3.
Alvernia does not compete again for over a month. The Golden Wolves will be back in action on March 17 against PSU Abington.
