Anyia Takes First to Lead Alvernia on Day One of 2026 MAC Indoor Track and Field Championship

Reading, Pa. (Feb. 27, 2026) - Alvernia Women's Track and Field sophomore Britney Anyia took first place in the long jump to lead Alvernia's showing on day one of the 2026 MAC Indoor Track and Field Championship hosted at Alvernia's Tom and Helen Flynn PLEX.

Anyia claimed first place in the women's long jump with a mark of 5.50 meters. Anyia jumped a 5.41 on her first attempt to take the lead. She rode that lead until DeSales' Brooke Signorella took the lead on a 5.48 on her last attempt of finals. Anyia answered with a personal record mark of 5.50 meters to retake the lead and claim gold. Anyia earned First Team All-MAC alongside her first place finish.

Mylina Castillo also set a season-best mark in the long jump with a mark of 4.84 meters to take 15th place. Brooke Hall took 17th in the 60m hurdles with a time of 11.01 seconds, and Maria Skulski took 35th in the weight throw with a mark of 9.65 meters to close out Alvernia's showing on day one of the Championship.

Alvernia will be back in action on Saturday for the second and final day of the 2026 MAC Indoor Track and Field Championship.
