Middletown, Pa. (March 24, 2026) - Alvernia University (1-4) fell to Penn State Harrisburg (3-4) Wednesday afternoon, 6-1, in a non-conference men's tennis matchup at PSU Harrisburg's Hoverter Tennis Complex. 

The Lions secured the doubles point after taking the #1 and #2 doubles matches and receiving a forfeit at the #3 doubles match. The doubles pairing of Troy O'Malley and Luke Brisbois dropped the #1 doubles match, 6-4, to Harrisburg's Ian Opitz and Ved Pawar. 

Duncan McDowell and Lucas Montello fell to Colin Flack and Andrew Lines in the #2 doubles match, 6-3, and the Lions received a forfeit in the #3 match to secure the doubles point. 

The Lions then took five of the six singles matches to secure the 6-1 victory over the Golden Wolves. Brisbois was the only Golden Wolf to grab a singles victory with a 6-7, 7-5, 1-0 victory over Opitz in the #2 singles match. 

Harrisburg took the #1, #3, #4, #5 singles matches and received a forfeit at the #6 singles spot to secure the victory for the Lions. 

Alvernia is back in action on Saturday when they host Messiah in a MAC Commonwealth match with the Falcons at 1:00 PM at Mifflin Courts.
