Reading, Pa. (March 30, 2026) - Alvernia Women's Lacrosse first year Grace Weissenberger and Alvernia Men's Lacrosse sophomore Charles Oberman were named Alvernia Athletes of the Week for their performances during the week of March 23 - March 29, 2026. This week's Alvernia Athletes of the Week are presented by MailShark.

Grace Weissenberger helped lead Alvernia to an 18-9 win over Gwynedd Mercy University on Wednesday. Weissenberger finished the evening with a six point performance for the Golden Wolves, posting two goals and four assists. She was a perfect 2-for-2 on shots on goal and was 2-for-3 overall on her shot attempts. 

Charles Oberman led Alvernia to an 11-10 double overtime win over Gwynedd Mercy University on Wednesday. Oberman led Alvernia with four points off of three goals and an assist. Oberman scored two equalizing goals for Alvernia in the fourth quarter to send the game into overtime. He then scored the game-winner with three minutes to play in the second overtime to secure the 11-10 win for the Golden Wolves.

Both women's and men's lacrosse are back in action on Wednesday to open MAC Commonwealth. Women's Lacrosse is at Albright at 6:00 PM and Men's Lacrosse hosts Albright at 7:00 PM.
