Grantham, Pa. (May 2, 2026) - Alvernia Men's Track and Field junior Spencer Hahn took first place in the 800m to lead Alvernia on the third and final day of the 2026 MAC Outdoor Track and Field Championship at Messiah University. 

Hahn was the top seed going into today's 800m after finishing with the fastest preliminary time on Friday. Hahn then bettered his preliminary time by nearly two seconds and posted a first place time of 1:51.98. That time also set a new program record as Hahn bettered his own record time of 1:52.24 set last May.

Both Christian Medina and Trip Freitag earned third team All-MAC honors and set new program records as well. Medina took third place in the shot put with a program record throw of 15.45 meters. Freitag took third in the javelin with a program record throw of 61.70 meters. That throw is also good for top-20 in the nation prior to Saturday's results.

Grant Sharp and Andrew Simmons also reached the podium on Saturday. Simmons took 7th in the 100m dash with a time of 11.17 seconds. Grant Sharp took sixth in the shot put with a personal-record mark of 13.95 meters. 

Aidan Arnold took 25th in the shot put with a mark of 11.59 meters.  Joel Thomas and Quinn Harter rounded out competition for Alvernia on Saturday in the triple jump. Thomas took 15th with a mark of 12.77 meters, and Harter took 25th with a mark of 11.82 meters.

Alvernia tied with King's for 10th place overall with 30 points. Lebanon Valley won the team title with 150 points. 

Alvernia is back in action on Monday, May 11 at the Widener Final Qualifier.
