Golden Wolves Take Third at the Berkleigh Challenge

Kutztown, Pa. (September 12, 2026) - Alvernia University recorded a third place team finish at the Berkleigh Challenge Saturday afternoon in men's golf action at Berkleigh Golf Club.

Alvernia's Maroon team finished in third place in a field of 14 teams with a two-day score of 619. Alvernia's Gold team finished in a tie for fifth place with a two-day total of 634 after a ten stroke improvement from day one to day two.

Allen Kim led the Maroon team with a sixth place finish for the Golden Wolves and posted a two day total of 151. Kim carded a day two round of 79 en route to the sixth place finish and posted a 41 on the front nine. Kim then bounced back with an eventful 38 on the back nine that included an eagle, a triple, a bogey and a birdie all in a four hole stretch en route to the round two score of 79.

Brody Calle improved four strokes from round one to round two and carded a 76 on Saturday. Calle posted a 38 on the front nine with two birdies and then carded another 38 on the back nine en route to a T13 finish.

Chase Smith followed Calle with a T13 finish as well after a day two score of 77. Smith recorded a 39 on the front nine before improving one stroke for a 38 on the back nine to card a 77.

Quinlan Hood posted a day two score of 79 and finished just behind Smith and Calle in a tie for 15th place. Hood carded a 40 on the front nine with two birdies before posting a 39 on the back nine including three birdies en route to the round of 79.

Zachary Neuin rounded out the scores for the Alvernia Maroon team and posted a day two round of 81 and finished in a tie for 27th place. Neuin carded a 41 on the front nine and a 40 on the back to card the final day score of 81.

Zhan Medina led the Alvernia Gold team at the Berkleigh Challenge and carded Alvernia's second best overall finish with a T9 finish. Medina carded the low round out of all ten Alvernia golfers on Saturday with a round of 76. Medina posted a three over 38 on the front nine before turning around with a one over 38 on the back nine en route to the round of 76.

Matthew Overholt posted a round of 79 on Saturday and finished in a tie for 15th place. After a 38 on the front nine, Overholt carded a 41 on the back nine en route to the round two score of 79.

Colby Seislove carded a round two score of 78 on Saturday and finished in a tie for 20th place. Seislove carded a 39 on the front nine and duplicated that on the back nine en route to the day two score of 79.

Matthew Gagliardi finished in a tie for 39th place and moved up 14 places from round one to round two. Gagliardi carded a 38 on the front nine before posting a 41 on the back nine en route to the round of 79.

Chase Carr rounded out the scores for the Golden Wolves with a round two score of 85. Carr carded a 40 on the front nine but a back nine score of 45 saw him card a round of 85 and finished in a tie for 56th place.

The Golden Wolves take the next two weeks off after playing four events in the first 12 days of the fall season when they head to Golden Oaks Golf Club for the Golden Oaks Shootout hosted by Arcadia on the 27th and 28th of September.
