10-Goal First Carries Eastern

Shafer Scores Four To Lead Crusaders

St. David's, Pa. (Apr. 15, 2008) – Eastern University scored the first nine goals of the game and held a 10-2 lead at halftime en route to a 16-6 win over Alvernia College Tuesday afternoon in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference women's lacrosse action at Eastern.

Alvernia senior McKenna Shafer (Delran, N.J./Cinnaminson) scored four goals to pace the Crusaders and Amanda Odenwalt (Lancaster, Pa./The Janus School) made 11 saves for Alvernia in 58 minutes.

Eastern held a 32-14 lead in shots and a 25-22 edge in ground balls. Freshman Felicia Sippel (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert) and sophomore Tara Walls (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) both added a goal for the guests.

Alvernia will travel to Gwynedd-Mercy College on Saturday.
