Tom Novak (Pottstown, Pa./Pottstown) scored a pair of unassisted goals to become the first men's lacrosse player in school history to reach 100 career points in a 24-2 loss to Cabrini College Saturday afternoon in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference action at Schlager Memorial Field.
Novak scored his first goal of the game with just under a minute left in the first quarter and his second, the 72nd of his career to go with 28 career assists, midway through the second quarter.
Cabrini scored nine goals in the first quarter and four more in the second for a 13-1 lead at the break and added five in the third and six more in the sixth.
Alvernia played three different goalies against the Cavaliers and recorded a combined 13 saves. Freshman goalie
Matt Boulton (Broadlands, Va./Briar Woods) led the way with 10 saves in 26 minutes.
Alvernia will host DeSales University in a non-conference rescheduled game on Monday.
