Katie Sullivan (Merrick, N.Y.) made 26 saves as the Pacers held off a late charge from Alvernia College for a 14-9 win Tuesday afternoon in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference women's lacrosse action at Schlager Memorial Field.

Katie O'Brien (Boothwyn, Pa./Garnet Valley) broke through for the Crusaders with 22 minutes left in the first half, but that was all Sullivan allowed and the Pacers (1-7, 1-6 PAC) enjoyed a 7-1 lead at the break. Sullivan made 14 saves in the opening 30 minutes.
Alvernia (1-8, 1-4 PAC) stormed out of the halftime break with four straight goals to pull within two at 7-5. O'Brien scored three of the goals and freshman
Felicia Sippel (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert) added the other.
From there the teams exchanged goals until Marywood strung together three straight for a 12-7 lead with 10:28 to play. O'Brien and Sippel scored back-to-back in a 30 second span to pull within three, but Marywood got the final two tallies of the day for the 14-9 final.
Alvernia will travel to Notre Dame on Thursday for an afternoon match-up with the Gators.
