Hackettstown, N.J. (Apr. 26, 2008) – Alvernia College scored the final two goals of the game, but could not find the equalizer in a 9-8 loss at Centenary in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference regular season finale.

Freshman midfielder Chris Bakes (Barto, Pa./Boyertown) led the Crusaders with three goals and sophomore Chris Baker (Exeter, Pa./Exeter) and freshman Ben Stidham (Glen Burnie, Md./Cardinal Gibbons) scored two goals apiece.

Centenary scored the only goal of the third quarter, but Alvernia senior Tom Novak (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove) answered in the first 30 seconds of the fourth to pull back within one. The Cyclones tallied twice in the next five minutes for a three goal lead, 9-6, and Baker and Bakes both scored for Alvernia to pull back within one, but the Crusaders could not complete the comeback.
