Farmingdale Reins Supreme in 8-1 Romp

Long Island, NY (Saturday Nov. 7, 2009) - The Vern will be counting Rams in their sleep after dropping back to back weekend games to the West Chester Golden Rams and the Div. III ACHA power house Farmingdale State Rams. The Nationally Ranked Farmingdale State Rams have been steam rolling along and should be the favored team to reach the National Championship game in March. Farmingdale proved why speed kills keeping the Vern off balance with clock work passing, text book break outs and driving to the net with authority.
Farmingdale should easily top the rankings in the tough ACHA Atlantic Region coming out later this week. It will be tough for most opponents to slow down the Rams scoring machine, the Crusader's only answer for Farmingdale was the great play of replacement goaltender Jim Fynes (Philadelphia, Pa / Roman Catholic HS). Fynes relieved starter Michael Restuccia (Chester Springs, Pa / Bishop Shanahan HS) after the initial bombardment that led to a 6-0 Farmingdale lead. Fynes turned off the switch to the goal lamp allowing only 2 games over the remaining thirty minutes of hockey. Anthony Froio (Glenolden, Pa / Interboro HS) tallied the loan goal for Alvernia eliminating any chance of a Farmingdale white wash.
