Sunbury, Pa. (October 21, 2025) - Alvernia University Men's Club Ice Hockey (4-3, 2-0) netted seven goals in the first two periods en route to an 8-4 victory over Bucknell University Sunday in a DVCHC-M3 men's ice hockey matchup at the James R. Eister Community Center in Sunbury, Pa. 

The Golden Wolves netted three goals in the first 15 minutes and four goals in the second period to take a four goal, 7-3 advantage into the final period of hockey. Alvernia tacked on one more insurance goal to secure the 8-4 victory over the Bison. 

How it Happened 

• The Golden Wolves got things going early in the game with a goal in the first three minutes from John Bellantoni after a Logan Buch assist to make it 1-0 Alvernia. 
• The next ten minutes would be scoreless before Benjamin Maurer found the back of the net to make it a 2-0 game. Buch and Bellantoni both dished out assists on the tally. 
• Bucknell grabbed one back two minutes later to cut the Alvernia lead to one, 2-1, but the Golden Wolves responded after Reece Wilson found the back of the net in the dying seconds of the first period to send the Golden Wolves into the room with a 3-1 advantage. 
• The Golden Wolves then came out and pushed the lead out of reach with four goals in under two minutes. With 8:38 to go in the second period, Buch netted a goal that got the ball rolling and 17 seconds later Roman Carpenter tallied a goal that made it a 5-1 lead. 
• Philip Juzwick and Nathan Ciccarelli then both netted goals 14 seconds apart to make it a 7-1 Alvernia lead with seven minutes to go in the second period. 
• Bucknell responded with two goals in the final five minutes of the period to cut the deficit to four, 7-3, heading into the final period. 
• The first ten minutes of the third period went scoreless before Bryan Pilpel and Juzwick assisted Brendan Fergus with 9:48 to go to tack on one final insurance goal for Alvernia and pushed it to an 8-3 lead. 
• Bucknell would add one more goal with seven minutes to go in the game but that would be all as Alvernia secured the four goal, 8-4 victory over the Bison and moved to 2-0 in conference play.

• Logan Buch led the way with four points off one goal and three assists. 
• Phil Juzwick netted a goal and tacked on two more assists. 
• Brendan Fergus, Nathan Ciccarelli, Benjamin Maurer and John Bellantoni all recorded a goal and an assist for the Golden Wolves. 
• Bryan Pilpel tallied two assists, Roman Carpenter and Reece Wilson both scored goals and Christopher Claycomb and Landon Sands both dished out assists. 
• Jackson Lesko got the win in goal for Alvernia.
