Wilkes Barre, Pa (September 17, 2025) - Alvernia University kicked off its 2025-26 DVCHC M3 season with a dominant 10-3 win over Bloomsburg University on Saturday, overwhelming its conference rival with an offensive barrage and a relentless pace from start to finish.
The Golden Wolves set the tone early and netted five unanswered goals in the first period with a staggering 39 shots on goal. They would go on to tally 95 shots by the end of regulation, compared to Bloomsburg's 19. 
How it Happened

• Senior forward Christopher Claycomb led the charge with two goals, including the game's opening tally at 9:58 of the first. Dominic Garcia added a shorthanded goal, and Mark Torre notched the game-winner at 4:43, assisted by Joseph Mullen and Andrew Denny.
• By the end of the second period, Alvernia extended their lead to 7-1 with additional goals from Jimmy Sparacio and Claycomb's second of the night. Bloomsburg's Gavin Weisgable briefly broke through with an unassisted goal at 17:22 of the second.
• In the third, Alvernia sealed the win with three more goals from Reece Wilson, John Bellantoni, and Sparacio. Bloomsburg added two late goals — including a power-play marker by Nathan Wolsieffer and a tally from Zach Getz but the Golden Wolves secured the 10-3 victory over the Huskies to grab their first win of the season. 
• In goal, Jackson Lesko earned the win for Alvernia, playing the full 60 minutes. Bloomsburg split goaltending duties between Tyler Keyes and Connor Paulus, who entered in the third period.

With the win, Alvernia starts the season at 1-0-0, while Bloomsburg drops to 0-1-0. The Golden Wolves are back in action this weekend as they head to the Keystone Kick-off tournament in Harrisburg.
