Orlando, Fl. (March 4, 2009) - The Crusader Women's Lacrosse team defeated Gwynedd-Mercy College 21-9 and followed with a 14-10 win over Neumann College at the Wide World of Sports in Disneyworld.  Alvernia travelled to Orlando, Fl. over Spring Break to practice and play two games.

In their first game of the week Felicia Sippel (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert) and Sara Gimber (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown) led the team with six goals each and Heather Coppola (Fulton, NY) added four goals and two assists.  Alvernia goalie Jennifer Czaenecki (Philadelphia, Pa.) recorded eight saves.

The second win of the week saw the Crusaders defeat Neumann College 14-10.  Sippel once again led Alvernia with seven goals and also added one assist.  Samantha Landis (Watsontown, Pa./Warrior Run) and Megan Corrigan (Boyertown, Pa.) both added two goals.

Alvernia will return to action Wednesday March 11th at 4:00 pm at Lancaster Bible.
