BOX SCORE

Madison, N.J. (Apr. 14 2009) - The top team in the conference, FDU-Florham (10-3, 8-0), used balance scoring on Tuesday to hand Alvernia University (1-9, 0-7) a 21-0 loss in Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic Conference men's lacrosse action at FDU.

The Knights scored five goals in the first quarter and six in the second for an 11-0 lead at the break.  They followed with four in the third and six in the final quarter.

There was only one penalty whistled on a cold, rainy night with FDU serving a man-down late in the second quarter.

Alvernia freshman Kevin Shupp (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) and Eric Jones (East Lyme, Conn./East Lyme) split time in net.  Shupp made 10 saves in the first half and Jones seven in the second.

Alvernia will continue the conference schedule hosting Elizabethtown on Saturday.
