Reading, Pa. (Apr. 22, 2009) - DeSales University (5-9, 4-5) scored seven goals in the first quarter and cruised to a 18-3 win over Alvernia University (3-12, 0-9) Wednesday afternoon in Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic Conference men's lacrosse action at Sovereign Bank Sports Park.

Alvernia scored its first goal on the man-advantage in the second quarter. Freshman Dan Hoffstetter (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) set up Drew Giberson (Conestoga, Pa./Penn Manor) for the first goal of the second quarter. Louis Vetrano (Centereach, N.Y./Centereach) scored on the man-up in the fourth quarter for the Crusaders and Jon Lozoskie (Fallston, Md./Fallston) scored his 10th goal of the season after returning from a shoulder injury.

DeSales scored two goals in the second quarter, five in the third, and four more in the fourth.

Kevin Shupp (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) made 13 saves for the Crusaders. The Bulldogs used a pair of goalies who combined to stop six.
