Women's Lacrosse Falls At Arcadia, 15-13

Sippel Scores Four To Pace Crusaders

Glenside, Pa. (Apr. 22, 2009) - Alvernia University (8-8, 2-8) scored three straight goals in a minute span to knot the score at 13-all, but Arcadia University (3-10, 2-8) scored the final two goals of the game to take a 15-13 win Wednesday afternoon in Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic Conference action at Arcadia.

Arcadia opened up a 4-1 lead early and doubled that to lead 8-2 before Alvernia scored the final goal of the first half to hit the break down 8-3.

The Crusaders scored the first three goals of the second half to pull within two, but trailed 12-8 with just over 12 minutes to play.  The lead was 13-10 for Arcadia with six minutes to play before the Crusaders rattled of three straight capped by Felicia Sippel's (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert) team-best fourth of the game to knot the score with five minutes left.

Arcadia scored a minute later and added an insurance goal with a minute to play.

Alvernia will finish the season hosting FDU-Florham on Saturday.
