Alvernia Drops 10-6 Decision At Immaculata

Vetrano Scores Three To Lead Crusaders

Immaculata, Pa. (Apr. 6, 2009) - Immaculata University (3-6) scored six goals in the second quarter en route to a 10-6 win over Alvernia University (2-8) Monday afternoon in non-conference men's lacrosse action at Immaculata.

Alvernia started the game on fire with freshman Louis Vetrano (Centereach, N.Y./Centereach) scoring the first two goals of the game and Ben Stidham (Glen Murnie, Md./Cardinal Gibbons) added a third made it 3-0 before the Mighty Macs got on the board with the last goal of the first quarter.

The hosts rattled off the first five of the second quarter and after a pair for the Crusaders, Immaculata closed the half with a goal to take a 7-5 lead at the break. 

The Mighty Macs scored the next three goals of the game over a 25-minute span to take a 10-5 lead with just under five minutes to play and Alvernia scored the final goal of the game for the 10-6 final.

Alvernia is at Messiah for a conference game on Wednesday.
