Eastern Moves To 4-1 With 19-2 Win At Alvernia

Reading, Pa. (April 10, 2010) - Eastern University (6-3, 4-1) opened up a 16-0 through three quarters en route to a 19-2 win over Alvernia University (3-8, 0-3) Saturday afternoon in Middle Atlantic Conference men's lacrosse action at Schlager Memorial Field.

The Eagles scored three goals in the first five minutes then posted two more in the final two minutes of the first quarter for a 5-0 lead after the opening 15 minutes.  They scored six more goals in the second quarter including three tallies in a 32-second span, and netted five more in the third.

Alvernia got on the board in the fourth quarter with goals from Jarrod Wiedow (Flanders, N.J./Morris Catholic) and Tom Casper (Milwaukee, Wisc./Marquette).  Sophomore goalie Kevin Shupp (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) made 20 saves on the game.

Alvernia continues the conference schedule at Elizabethtown on Wednesday.
