Alvernia Earns Conference Win At Lebanon Valley

Finnegan Scores Three To Lead Crusaders

Annville, Pa. (April 21, 2010) - Alvernia University (4-10, 1-7) earned a 5-3 lead by halftime and matched Lebanon Valley (2-10, 0-8) in the third and fourth quarters for a 9-7 win Wednesday afternoon in Middle Atlantic Conference men's lacrosse action at Lebanon Valley.

LVC took an early 2-1 lead before goals from Robert Finnegan (Newark, Del./St. Mark's) and Jarrod Wiedow (Flanders, N.J./Morristown Catholic) scored to put the guests up 3-2 after the first quarter.

Finnegan scored the second goal for the Crusaders in the second quarter and the lead grew to 5-3 at halftime.

Dan Hoffstetter's (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) goal with 3:18 left in the game put Alvernia up 9-6 and the Dutchmen got back just one goal in the final three minutes.

Kevin Shupp (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) made six saves to earn the win.

Alvernia will continue the conference schedule at King's on Saturday.
