BOX SCORE

Reading, Pa. (April 21, 2010) - Freshman attack Allison Bainbridge (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove) assisted on the first and last goals of the game and three in between to break the Alvernia University record for assist in a game with five as the Crusaders (9-4, 5-4) defeated Lebanon Valley College (6-6, 4-5), 22-11 Wednesday afternoon in Middle Atlantic Conference women's lacrosse action at Schlager Memorial Field.

Bainbridge set up Heather Coppola (Fulton, N.Y./G. Ray Bodley) for the first goal of the game nearly seven minutes into play after LVC netminder Erica Ameigh set a tone of frustration with some early saves.  She finished the day with a career-high 23 saves.

The second helper from Bainbridge set up freshman Alyssa Verrillo (North Wales, Pa./Archbishop Wood) who tied the game at 2-2 with 18 minutes left in the first half.  Verrillo improved her team-leading goal total to 49 on the season with a team-high five on Wednesday.

Bainbridge followed the Verrillo helper with two goals of her own and the Crusaders took a 4-2 lead with 17:10 left in the half.  After an LVC score, Alvernia scored five of the last seven goals in the half to take a 9-5 lead into the break.

Bainbridge's third assist of the day set up Coppola again and gave Alvernia an 11-6 lead and her fourth helper, which tied the previous record held by McKenna Shaefer ('08), went to Sarah George (West Chester, Pa./Bayard Rustin) who put the Crusaders up 20-10, and the final assist went to Verrillo with a little better than two minutes remaining.

Felicia Sippel (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert) finished with four goals and George added three.  Sippel also added three assists, and Hana Krechel led the Dutchmen with four goals.

Vicky Kearn (Merrick, N.Y./Sanford H. Calhoun) and Jenn Czarnecki (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert) each played a half with Czarnecki making seven of the team's nine saves in the second half.

Alvernia continues the conference schedule hosting King's College for the final home game on the regular season on Saturday.
