Giberson Scores Three For Crusaders

Scranton, Pa. (April 24, 2010) - King's College (5-8, 3-6) scored five goals in the third quarter to pull away from Alvernia University (4-11, 1-6) in a 14-5 win Saturday afternoon in Middle Atlantic Conference men's lacrosse action at King's.

Alvernia sophomore Drew Giberson (Conestoga, Pa./Penn Manor) led the way for the Crusaders with his second three-goal game of the year.  Chris Bakes (Barto, Pa./Boyertown) and Chris Baker (Exeter, Pa./Exeter) scored the other two goals for the Crusaders.

King's took an 8-2 lead at the half on the strength of winning each of the first two quarters by 4-1 counts.  A 5-0 third quarter put the Monarchs up 13-2 and the Crusaders closed with three of the four, fourth-quarter goals.

Alvernia sophomore Kevin Shupp (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) stopped five shots for the Crusaders.

Alvernia continues the conference schedule hosting Messiah College on Tuesday evening.
